Press Report week-ending 1st August

The Linwood Sports Complex Open Graded Meeting was last Wednesday (29th) and had a few of our younger members of Clydesdale Harriers taking part. First up was the 100m where Cameron McLeod ran 12.38 and Mark Doris ran 12.41. Mark then ran in the 200m finishing in a time of 24.87. The 800m had Claire Reid running well finishing in 2.43.94 and Roisin McShea ran the 1500m in 5.34.16. Lastly Peter Bowman ran the 1500m in a time of 4.25.85.

Two Harriers made the trek to Ballater to run in the 10 miler last weekend (26th). Bobby Rossborough was fastest out of the two running 66.45 over the undulating course followed a few minutes later by Kath Scott (70.38) who was 2nd veteran prizewinner.

Also that weekend was the Luss Highland Games where Jonathan Farrell was extremely busy competing in a number of events! First up was the 90m which he won followed by 2nd place in the 200m, 4th in the 400m, 2nd in both local and open Long Jump, 2nd in the Triple Jump and 2nd in the local High Jump and 3rd in the open event! Unsurprisingly he won the Jay Scott Trophy awarded every year to the competitor who accumulated most points in track and field events.

Prasad Prasad was as usual busy racing. First was the Aonach Mor Uphill Only Race where he broke the course record. Second was the Lochearnhead Highland Games where he won the 800 yards and the mile then proceeded to win the hill race as well!
