On Tuesday this week I was given some more stuff from the late James P Shields cupboards. Jim was a well known official and committee member at National level as well as within the County and the club. Among the contents was the Scottish ranking list for 1969. In the 10000 metres and six miles lists there were three club members - in the 10000 metres Ian Leggett was eighteenth with 31:30.6, and in the six miles Ian Donald was sixth with a time of 31:07 and would you believe Brian McAusland eighth with 31:36. You can add about 68 seconds to get a 10000 time. BUT here's the thing, P Dolan was ninth Junior in the 3000 metres in 9:47.0. There were also many club girls and ladies in the list and I will come back to that in a post later this week.
