Clydesdale Harrier Michael Diver was in Stirling on the 11th for the Stirling Duathlon where he came well up in the field to run a combined time of 1.13.24.
The cross country season was officially in full swing with the first of the relays – The West District Cross Country Relays at Stepps on the 10th of the month. First off was the Junior Females where we had one complete team and one incomplete team taking part. ‘A’ team had on 1st leg Kirsty Alexander running 11.41 over the 2500m course. She changed over to Roisin McShea (10.21) then Claire Reid finished well to run 10.34. The incomplete ‘B’ team consisted of Caitlin Dick (12.31) changing over to Diane Nicholson (12.51). Next was the Young Males. We had one team which comprised of Andrew Hunter (11.50), changing over to David Campbell (10.50) and finally David Newton (10.18).
Next was the Senior/Junior Females which unfortunately due to injury and other circumstances ended up with Marina McCallum running 1st leg with no one else to follow her. She ran well, however, finishing 12th out of the 30 starters in a time of 16.13 for the 4000m course.
Lastly was the Senior/Junior Men where we had two complete and one incomplete teams. ‘A’ team had John Foley starting (14.35), then changing over to Iain Robertson (14.38), then Gary Dick (14.28), and finally Paul Carroll finished strongly to finish in 14.14. ‘B’ team was Brian Gallagher (15.04), followed by Ryan Nelson (15.03), Ryan Savage (14.42) and finally Bobby Young (15.57). ‘C’ team had Peter Rudzinski running well to finish 1st leg in 16.40.
