News Report week-ending 29th November

Last weekend was the Dunbartonshire Cross Country Championships at Maryhill Park, off Maryhill Road. Results as soon as they become available.

The senior Clydesdale Harriers travelled down to Carlisle on the 21st to compete in the Brampton to Carlisle 10 Mile Road Race. However due to terrible weather the previous few days the race route had to be changed at the last minute due to the extensive flooding in the area. The race route ended up being the main road which joins Brampton and runs through Carlisle which unfortunately meant the race distance was shortened to 9.3 miles. However times were excellent despite that. Fastest finisher for the club was John Foley running an excellent 58.02, closely followed by Bobby Young (58.28), Bobby Rossborough (58.47), Marina McCallum (60.36), Aileen Scott (63.00), Kath Scott (63.14 and 2nd vet 45), Martin King (64.15), Hugh Watson (64.32), Fiona McCue (64.45), David Mitchell (68.11), Christine Duncanson (69.14), Yvonne Green (70.04), Watson Jones (70.36), Alexander McDonald (73.59), Chris Ryan (76.50), Marie Rippon (78.52), Colin Gray (87.57), and Laurie Pearson (92.46). Marina, Aileen and Kath were also 3rd veteran team.

The previous weekend was the 5 Nations Masters International at Perry Park, Birmingham. The three amigos went down to compete in the 6k race. Fastest of the amigos was Pete Cartwright coming 6th in a time of 27.22, closely followed by Bobby Young (7th in 27.25), and Brian Campbell (34.56).

Lastly on the 7th November was the Deloitte Glasgow University 5 Mile Road Race. Fastest finisher for the club was Iain Robertson (30.38), followed by John Foley (30.41), Bobby Young (32.24), Ryan Nelson (32.46), Pete Cartwright (33.09), David Mitchell (38.23) and Yvonne Green (39.50).
