That has to be the quickest ever! An hour after the last post came another email asking for more. So here's Evan Cameron's training - Evan won the SAAA Marathon Championship in 1985 and he says that he did this. 120 miles per week for two consecutive months in 1980 as follows. Sundays it was 20 miles in the morning plus 4 later in the day. Monday: 12 miles to work and 8 home. Tuesdays 8 to work and 8 home. Wednesdays 8 in the morning and 7 at night on grass including 8 fast 400's. Thursday it was 8 to work and 10 home. Friday it was 8 to and 4 from and on Saturday it was 15 usually including a race. He now says he might just have overdone it a little.
Peter Duffy of Motherwell and Aberdeen usually ran to and from work Monday to Thursday but usually had a third session on Tuesday and Thursday at the club; An easy jog on Friday and racing or hill reps on a Saturday with up to two and a half hours on a Sunday. That was thirteen sessions a week!
If you are interested, there is more! Let me know.
