I am starting to wonder about the elusive athletics facility at the above school. No one - but no one - is able or prepared to talk at an individual level about it. It would seem to be essential that the club act in an official way with the Council. The agitation level increased at the weekend when I heard that Jarvis, the company that is responsible for all the PPP work on schools in Stirling - is now officially bankrupt and has gone into receivership. Teaching, etc will not suffer but the company was responsble for janitorial services, community involvement, maintenance of the fabric, etc, etc. Who was responsible for local schools? It wasn't Jarvis was it? If it isn't, how healthy is the company?
It is possible that some may say that I am gettting hyper about something that we have no control over - maybe so but we do NEED information and maybe even some input. It is almost impossible to overestimate the difficulties facing the younger athletes - and so the whole club - right now. With NO facilities in Clydebank and with Glasgow spending more and more money on the sport and has facilities that are among the best in the country, if not the best. Only Aberdeen seems remotely comparable.
An the meantime we need to know what the arrangements are for the younger and track athletes this summer as a matter of urgency and it should be done at club level rather than at individual coach level.
