Press Report weekending 23rd May

On Sunday was the Central and Southern League (Event 2) at Dumfries for the Clydesdale Harriers. Young and old took part. Results as soon as they become available.

Last Thursday was the Helensburgh Polaroid Eyewear 10k (first in the series out of four races). The race started and finished at the Hermitage Academy. Fastest finisher for the club was Kevin Farmer (36.56), closely followed by Paul Carroll (37.02), Derek Halpin (37.48), Donald Cameron (38.08), Bobby Young (40.04 and 1st vet 60), Kath Scott (41.24), Marina McCallum (42.56), Heather Calderwood (47.05), Yvonne Green (49.15), Alexander McDonald (53.08), and Colin Gray (57.40).

Please note that the Clydebank 10k (second in the series) is this Thursday (27th) starting at 730pm. If anyone is not running that night then volunteers are needed. Just turn up at the Playdrome and see Peter Rudzinski preferably before 7pm.

The previous weekend we had Brian Reilly running in the Loch Leven Half Marathon (Kinross) and finishing well in a time of 1.35.34. Also that weekend (and on most weekends) was the Glasgow Parkrun (5k in Pollock Park). No less than eight harriers decided to try this testing, hilly course. Fastest harrier was Iain Robertson (18.14), followed by Kath Scott (20.11), Roisin McShea (20.41), Marina McCallum (20.48), Robert Rossborough (21.31), Watson Jones (22.35), Claire Reid (23.48) and Yvonne Green (24.04).

The previous weekend (9th) was the Ignis Asset Management Womens 10k where three of our women took part. Fastest was Kath Scott (31st in 40.45), followed by Marina McCallum ( 78th in 43.30), and Yvonne Green (389th in 49.12).
