SYAL Match

There were many excellent performances and quite a few PBs from the junior athletes on Sunday at the first young athletes meeting of the season at Wishaw. Full results detailed below:

Under 13 Girls:

Cira Devanney ran well in the 75m to be timed at 12.15 secs. Also running well in her first 1200m but had to retire with a stitch.

Rachel Campbell also had a good run in the 75m with a time of 12.43 secs and jumping 2.76m in the long jump.

Rachel Busby took unwell in the car on the way to the event so missed out running the 75m on the day. She is looking forward to getting back to her distance training in a week or two, when hopefully she has had a rest and physio treatment for the reoccurence of her heel injury.

Under 15 Girls:

Roisin McShea had an excellent run in the 1500m to finish in a time of 5:23:53 secs and a new PB and throwing 8.25m in the discus

Caitlin Dick did well in her first 800m to finish in 3:03:37, also competing in the 200m to be timed at 37.11 secs

Kirsty Alexander ran well in the 100m in 15.39 secs, in the 1500m in 6:16:69 and throwing 10.02m in the discus

Under 17 Girls:

Claire Reid ran a great 800m in 2:38:10 PB, 47.77 secs for the 300m and 3.59m in the long jump.

Under 13 boys:

Andrew Hunter had a great run to win the 100m in 13.65 secs and also the 200m to finish 2nd in 27.68 secs. Also competing in the long jump, 4.07m.

Lewis Hay ran well and keeps improving in his 800m, finishing in 3.01.57, also throwing 3.67m in the shot

Under 15 boys:

David Campbell competed well in the 80m hurdles in 16.38 secs

David Newton ran the 200m to finish in a good time of 29.2 secs and 66.38 secs for the 400m

Under 17 boys:

Tony Dolan had a great day, running 15.21 secs for the 100m, 2:29:72 for the 800m and the 1500m in 5:00:02. A couple of PBs, I think.

Lewis Wood competed in the hammer throwing 10.94m, throwing 7.52m in the shot and 17.64m in the discus
