Alva Highland Games

The Alva Highland Games ( always called 'the Famous Alva Highland Games')took place on Saturday and there were three of the younger club members in serious action there. Johnathan Farrell was off five and a half yards in the 90 metres and won Heat, Semi Final and Final which won a trophy and swelled his bank balance too. Peter Bowman was in action in three events: the 1600 where he was sixth, the 800 where he was fifth and the 400 where he was seventh. A very good day's training on a good grass surface and a couple of good races. Young Tony (photo above) had the best day with a first in the Youths 1600 and a third in the Youths 800. Apparently he was ahead of one of the other runners whom he had passed when he eased slightly just before the line - and lost the place he had just gained! The boys all came home richer than they left and they had had a great day out into the bargain! Well done guys, roll on the next one.
