All clubs in Scotland - and England, Wales and Ireland too, come to that - need coaches and officials. If you go to the scottishathletics website (www.scottishathletics.org.uk ) there is information on how to become a coach helper or official. Just go to the website at the above address, click on Central and Tayside's New Coaches, then click on the link to the UK Coaching Pathway Courses and click on Dunbartonshire Leaders Award. It's on 7th November and it would be a good intriduction to becoming a coach helper and a step to becoming a coach if you felt so inclined. Parents often want to help their children, veteran athletes and committee members also want to take a step towards being a coach - this would be a valuable step to that goal.
If you would rather be an official - and remember they are still looking for officials for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and we as a club must provide graded officials at league matches - the go to the scottish athletics website (address above) and click on 'National Officials Training Day' and take it from there.
