On Saturday Clydesdale Harriers were competing in the
Scottish Athletics Road Relay Championships at Almondvale, Livingston. Results
as soon as they become available.
The previous weekend there were no less than five races. The
Newtonmore 10 Mile Road Race where Hugh Laverty finished in a personal best
time of 66 minutes.
The Nigel Barge 10k at Garscube Sports Complex, Maryhill,
had Colin Gray finishing the undulating two loop course in 54.31.
Michael Divers travelled to Biggar to compete in the
Chapelgill Hill Race where he finished in 20th position in a time of
28.08.
The next day was the 46th Round the Houses 10k
starting next to Grangemouth Stadium. Fastest harrier was Gerry Montgomery (3rd
veteran over 50 in a time of 36.48), followed by Pamela McCrossan (3rd
female veteran over 50 in a time of 41.05), and Yvonne Green (46.38).
Slightly further afield was the BMAF Cross Country
Championships within the grounds of Bath

Cartwright finished the 6k course in 22.42 (4th M65), followed by
Watson Jones (6th M70 in 25.20), and Bobby Young (20th
M65 in 25.53). The three picked up the silver team medal for their excellent
efforts!
Next races for the harriers include the Tom Scott Road Races
(10 Mile and 6k) at Strathclyde
Park on the 8th, the
Balloch to Clydebank Half Marathon on the 15th and the Virgin London
Marathon on the 22nd.
