News Report weekended 28th October

Last weekend was the National Cross Country Relay Championships at Cumbernauld. Results next week! The previous weekend was the Amsterdam Marathon and Half Marathon where five Clydesdale Harriers ran the marathon and three ran the Half Marathon. A fantastic weekend was had by all who took part and also those who came along and assisted with taking photos. Fastest harrier in the marathon was Donald Cameron, finishing in a personal best time of 2.58.40, followed by Kevin Farmer (3.06.46 pb), Stuart Allison (3.13.28 pb), Hugh Laverty (3.25.50), Marina McCallum (3.33.03), Alistair Greig (3.36.40 pb), Shirley Greig (3.36.40 pb), and Christine Duncanson (4.18.40 pb). The Half Marathon had Fiona McCue and Martin King both running 1.36.26, followed by Marie Rippon (2.02.33). The previous day was the Dunbartonshire Cross Country Relay Championships at Postie’s Park, Dumbarton. The Under 11 Boys and Girls went off together running approximately 1500m, running it as a single race. Fastest harrier was H. Lindup (7.59), followed by S. Aird (8.02), K. Goggins (8.08), J. Steele-Milne (8.11), A. Belkevitz (8.14), J. Dolan (8.30), T. Hearns (8.44). Next off were the Young Males and Females running approximately 2500m. The Young Males had four teams, one incomplete. ‘A’ Team had Under 13 L. Priest running first (9.33), changing to Under 15 B. Aird (10.00), finally changing to Under 17 David Campbell (9.59) to finish as 4th team overall. ‘B’ Team had Under 13 R. Ross (11.07), changing to U15 P. Allan (10.44), finally to U15 D. Dolan (11.12). ‘C’ Team had U13 Stephen Kane running first (11.35), changing to U13 Kyle Higgins (13.26), finally changing to U15 Lewis Hay (11.19). Incomplete ‘D’ Team had U15 J. Siems running 11.01. The Young Females had five complete teams. ‘A’ Team had Under 13 Iona Allan running first (11.16), changing to U13 S. Goggins (12.01), finally changing to U15 Emily Paxton (11.14). ‘B’ Team had U13 C. Allan running first (12.34), changing to U15 Rachel Campbell (12.51), finally changing to U17 C. Haran (12.05). ‘C’ Team had U13 N. Shaw running first (12.08), changing to U13 Aimee Abbott (13.42), finally changing to U17 H. MacEwan (13.51). ‘D’ Team had U13 C. Stuart running first (13.29), changing to U15 K. Glen (14.06), finally changing to U17 L. Steele-Milne (14.57). ‘E’ Team had U13 C. Hassan running first (16.19), changing to U15 A. Clark (14.49), finally changing to U17 R. Meehan (15.00). Next off was the Senior Women running approximately 4000m. We had one incomplete team. Pamela McCrossan ran first (13.39), then changed to Claire Reid (17.22). Finally it was the Senior Men. There were three teams one incomplete. ‘A’ Team had Peter Bowman running first (10.21), changing to Brian Gallagher (11.34), changing to Gerry Montgomery (12.24), finally changing to Paul Carroll (11.26), and finished as 5th team overall. ‘B’ Team had Ryan Nelson running first (12.40), changing to Tony Dolan (13.06), changing to Gerry Kane (14.02), finally changing to Colin Gray (15.11). ‘C’ Team had Gus Cairney running first (12.59), changing to Pat McCloskey (12.42).
