The weekend
of the 17th March had senior Clydesdale Harriers travelling to Alloa
to run in the Alloa Half Marathon. Fastest harrier was Paul Carroll in a time
of 1.16.44 pb, followed by Brian Gallagher (1.20.56), Gerry Kane (1.42.24),
Steven McKee (1.53.58), Tricia Stevenson (1.59.41), and Evelyn McKee (2.03.16).
Also that day
was the National Young Athletes Road Race Championships at Riccarton. Under 13
Boys had to run 2800m and had Lewis Priest finishing 7th overall in
a time of 10.14, followed in 56th place by Harry Bothwick (12.17),
and Stephen Kane (58th in 12.23). The three also finished as 14th
team overall. Under 13 Girls also ran 2800m. Iona Allan was fastest harrier in
37th place in a time of 12.25, followed by Sarah Goggins (72nd
in 13.48), Chloe Allan (76th in 14.16), and Caitlin Stuart (80th
in 15.40). Iona, Sarah and Chloe finished as 13th team overall.
Next off were
the Under 15 Boys running 4500m. Fastest harrier was 33rd placed
Brian Aird finishing in a time of 18.17, followed by Lewis Hay (39th
in 19.14), Tony Connolly (45th in 19.51), and Philip Allan (48th
in 20.03). Brian, Lewis and Tony finished as 5th team overall. Under
15 Girls also had 4800m to run and had Charlotte Ross finishing 33rd
in a time of 19.28, followed by Erin Denny (45th in 22.35).
