It was good to see two Clydesdale Harriers contesting the head of an 800 metres race for the first time in quite a while. Peter Bowman and Ian Robertson eventually finished third and fourth on a blustery night in 2:05 and 2:05.8. The two outstanding Under 11 1500 metres runners Rachel Busby and Kirsty Alexander were timed at 6:05.1 and 6:15.2 - both very good times in the conditions. Tony Dolan was a bit slower than his best, possibly due to tight hamstrings, when he recorded 5:22.2 for the same distance. Coach Phil Dolan would have been a happy man with the work done by his protegees. It's on to the Senior Men's League for them on Sunday at Meadowbank.

In the 100 metres, Under 17 runners Anton Russell and Cameron MacLeod clocked 12.5 and 12.7 respectively. Lewis Wood had a good night in the Under 15 shot putt with 6.20 metres. Other athletes competed on the night and their results will be published on the results page when they become available.
