The weekend of the 9th/10th had a glut of races taking place. Clydesdale Harriers were busy taking part in most of the fixtures. There was the Glasgow-Edinburgh Double Marathon starting at Ruchill Park which had Peter Halpin finishing a respectable 18th in a time of 9.39.54.
The next day was the Lochaber Marathon where Gerry Montgomery finished in a personal best time of 3.00.41 narrowly missing out on a sub 3 hour clocking in warm conditions. Also running a personal best time over at Strathclyde Park was Paul Carroll in the Tom Scott 10 Miler finishing in 59.51. He was also a bronze medallist in the Masters competition and silver medallist in the West Districts Competition within the race, a truly superb result! Prizes galore were also won at Richie’s Run near Gaerlochead. In the 5 mile multi-terrain race Pamela McCrossan was 1st female in 36.28 followed further back by Colin Gray in 46.27. In the 9 mile multi-terrain race Michael Diver continued his good form to win the race outright in a time of 59.39, followed in 6th place by Hugh Laverty (67.51), Marina McCallum (70.30 and 2nd female), followed by Peter Rudzinski (81.21).
