DunRen Meeting

In the combined Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire Open Graded Meeting last week, three of the club's younger athletes were taking part in the sprints. Andrew Hunter went in the 10m and Long Jump with excellent results. He ran 12.78 seconds in the 100m and did a very good long jump of 5.03 metres. He makes a good doublr act in the two leagues we contest (Young Athletes and CSS) with David Campbell and sure enough, David was there for the 100m where he clocked 13.49. He followed this up with a creditable 13.99 seconds for the 80 metres hurdles. David's sister Rachel raced well in the 100m where she was timed at 15.94. It's good to see the younger athletes going out looking for competition like this: there would have been a couple of the older ones too but for the fact that Johnathan, Peter and Iain have gone to Gothenburgh for the big meeting there: their results will be interesting to see.
