Pete's Progress
V 60 Pete Cartwright had a good run this week: he ran in the Bridge of Earn 5 on Wednesday and finished sixty second in 33:08. A good run and it's a pity that more club runners weren't there to support him. Athletics in Scitland tends to be predictable - ie in any guven race you can line up and forecast where you will finish to within a place or two. If you want to progress in anything, you need a challenge. Even racing outside thw Wet of Scotland presents a challenge because there are so many new vests and unrecognised faces on the start line. Seek out the challenges, leave your comfort zone and have a go at a new race over a trail that you don't know! It's the only way forward. How many current members have run in the Spean Bridge to Fort William race? How many have run in the Mamore Hill race? How many have run in the Edinburgh Uni 5? If you only run in the same races every year, you will find it difficult to progress. So - well done Pete!
