Success at Scottish School's Competition

The Scottish Secondary School’s Athletic competition took place this weekend at Grangemouth and those involved certainly left their mark.  With international selection as well as medals at stake, coming placed was the aim of the day.  Two Harriers made it to the medals and are now waiting to hear if they have been selected to represent their country in a match, between the Home Nations in Dublin in July. They are Andrew Hunter U17 who jumped 5m 90 to gain a bronze medal in long jump and David Campbell U17, who ran 14.85s to gain gold in the sprint hurdles and 57.97s to take silver in the 400m hurdles.
In the lower age groups Rachel Campbell was just outside the time required for the semi finals in sprint hurdles, while in the 1500m, Lewis Priest ran a superb heat to finish 3rd  and gain a place in the final where despite  a valiant effort he was unable to make it to medal position on this occasion.  Well done to all who took part.
