Two Clydesdale Harriers travelled down to Stranraer on Saturday to take part in the Stranraer 10k. Conditions were ideal for this undulating course. Pamela McCrossan was first harrier to finish and also scooped first lady prize (40.07), followed a few minutes later by Marina McCallum who finished third lady overall (44.44).
On the 18th of last month was the Dunbartonshire AAA Cross Country Relays taking place at Posties Park in Dumbarton. First up was the Under 11 Boys and Girls individual race. The winner of the race was our own Rachel Busby running the 1500 metre course in 7.55. Also running was Andrew Hunter (9.59) and Lewis Hay (11.00).
Next was the Young Males and Females relays all running 2500 metres. The boy’s team had Connor Shields (11.37), Tony Dolan (10.44) and Peter Bowman (9.21). Total time was 31.42. The girl’s team comprised of Kirsty Alexander (11.29), Chloe Wright (12.10) and Kirsty Kelly (12.28). Total time was 36.07.
Lastly were the Senior/U20/Veteran Men and Women relays running 4000 metres. The ladies had Pamela McCrossan (14.16), Fiona McCue (16.08) and Anne Murray (15.15). Total time was 45.39 and they won second team prize. Pamela also was the winner of the fastest lap by a veteran. The men had two teams. ‘A’ team comprised of James Austen (12.25), Iain Robertson (13.15), Paul Carroll (13.18) and Gary Dick (13.26). Total time was 52.24 and 5th team overall. James Austen also won the fastest lap by a veteran. ‘B’ team had John Foley (13.30), Gerry Montgomery (13.33), Ryan Nelson (20.47) and Michael Diver (13.50). Total time was 61.40 and 11th team overall.
