Callander Crags - Winter Race

The Callander Crags race is held both winter and summer and the winner of both races in 2008 as well as holding both records is Prasad Prasad. All last week he had had a bad cold and was coughing all the time and had decided not to run. But on the day, there was a big field of about 90 runners forward with some very good athletes among them So he ran - was first at the top, held the lead all the way down and despite his legs buckling a bit at the finish through the woods, he held on to win in a time better than the summer record that he set last year! Then he was up till 6:00 am coughing his lungs up, just about! He has been selected for the West District team in the inter area match at Edinburgh next week but has heard nothing official or in writing so if he runs will depend on whether he is contacted directly and whether the cough gets any worse.
