Kheredine Idessane

I was going to stop the diary extracts after Cliff but it has been pointed out that there are many distance runners but there is only one by a track athlete - ie Ewan Calvert's. Kheredine was a 1:48 800 metre runner and when he moved to Glasgow to work with the BBC he made contact and asked if he could train with our group. he soon joined up and ran well for us in track, cross country and road. The week here is the week beginning 13th April 1997.
Monday: am: 34 minutes easy; pm 6 x 150 track + 25 minutes warm up/warm down.
Tuesday: 2 x (3 x 300) in 39.2/39.6/39.4 and 38.8/39.61/38.9 + 34 minutes easy run.
Wednesday: 5 x 200 in 23.3/22.9/22.9/22.9/23.2 + 33 minutes easy run
Thursday: am: 32 minutes easy pm: 34 minutes easy run
Friday: 300 + (2 x 200) + (4 x 100) with 3 minutes, 2 minutes and 1 minute recovery in 36.6 + (24.4/24.9) + (12.4/12.4/12.2/12.1)
Saturday: Mckean Circuit x 2 and 32:23 easy run.

This was during his week of warm weather training in Portugal with the group and being Kheredine he added at the bottom: "Rangers won the League this week." He's not a fan. You will see that he is a totally different runner from any of the others being even quicker than Ewan and did more very fast runs. Here definitely endeth the diaries!
