Im sure i will be the first of many to congratulate Aileen,Peter and John on their great times at the recent ultra race.
Secondly,The London Marathon. Its times like this when you watch this race on TV and hear of different stories about why people take part and you sit and ponder..thats why i run ! Congrats to Gerry,Stevie and Brian on good runs in what seemed like a warm day for running.
Im beginning to sound like Brian (sorry boss) but did anyone see the recent copy of Runners Fitness ? It mentions Newton running.Ive never heard of that before but basically its when the 'foorfoot' or 'midfoot'strikes the ground before the heel.
The great Haile runs this way.I trained with a guy from Garscube who ran this way. So Phil,Brian,John H and other club members...did/do you run this way.
I tried it the other night and it was tough (thou slight calf injury doesnt help).
Finally..Goals/Targets. A few of us tend to keep these to ourselves.
Id like to tell you mine as i think if we begin to disclose our targets for this Year, then we can all support each other in getting there. So,i want to run sub 80 mins for the Half Marathon. I know hard work, staying injury free and a bit of committment will go along way to achieving that goal.
