On Sunday the Clydesdale Harriers had the last in the Polaroid Eyewear Series – The Vale of Leven 10k. Results next week.
The Bearsden and Milngavie Highland Games 10k was on the Saturday and had Marina McCallum win the 1st Ladies prize in a time of 43.58. The time may seem a little unremarkable but if you have ever run the course then you would know why! It is quite possibly the hilliest road 10k in the country! The race was ably organised by Garscube Harriers running club and is a definite must for any runners out there looking for a hard challenge.
Three days earlier was the SVHC 5k Road Championships which took place within the confines of the Clydebank Business Park. First Clydesdale home and winner of the over 65 prize was Bobby Young (19.58) closely followed by Marina McCallum (20.00 and winner of over 35 ladies prize), then not far behind was Brian Campbell (20.29).
On the 6th of the month was the Frank Sinclair Memorial 10k Road Race where yet again Marina McCallum journeyed to Greenock to take part. It wasn’t a wasted journey as she was yet again 1st Lady overall in a time of 42.19.
