Two results

Prasad took a chance at the weekend - after weeks off training he had managed to get two weeks of walking, jogging, running done so headed off to Wales. The attraction was the European Championships selection Race up Snowdon! What a race for your first run in three months! It was a flat half mile on the road to start with and he was eleventh when they started on the hill. However he managed to get up to sixth by the finish but with only four to be selected he missed out by two places. On the whole he was pleased with the run and reckons it augurs well for the commonwealth trials in September. He won't be running in the Ben Sheann this Wednesday though.

Nearer home, a below par Peter Bowman ran a time of 2:02.8 for the 800 in the Scottish Schools Championships on Saturday at Grangemouth. This didn't qualify him for the final as he was the third fastest unplaced runner. As I said he didn't look himself when I spoke to him later in the afternoon but with any luck he'll be back to his best for Gothenburg.
