Seven of the Clydesdale Harriers trouped up north to Forres to take part in the Scottish Athletics National Masters Cross Country Championships on the 6th of the month. Women were running 4 miles and the men were running 6 miles. First off were the women. Fastest finisher for the club was Pamela McCrossan finishing 18th in a time of 26.08, followed in 25th place by Marina McCallum (26.58), and Kath Scott in 29th (27.19). The trio managed to finish as 6th team. Then it was the mens’ turn Fastest for the club was Bobby Rossborough (41.08), followed by Bobby Young (42.57 and 1st vet over 65), Pete Cartwright (43.39 and 2nd vet over 65), and Peter Rudzinski (51.43).
The previous week had four Harriers racing a little closer to home in the Scottish Athletics 4k Cross Country Championships at Bellahouston Park . Fastest harrier was Iain Robertson (14.20), followed by Gary Dick (14.30), Ryan Nelson (15.07) and Pete Cartwright (16.12).(see picture)
