Clydesdale Harriers were competing in several longer distance races recently. The weekend of the 26th September had no less than two full marathons and one half marathon being contested. The half was at Dumfries where Gerry Montgomery ran a personal best time of 1.20.24, followed by Pamela McCrossan (1st veteran) in 1.29.49. Slightly further afield was Kevin Farmer running in the Anglesey Marathon finishing in a time of 3.10.23. Lastly, over in Germany, was the Berlin Marathon where Bobby Rossborough ran a respectable 3.02.18, followed by Kath Scott taking at least 8 minutes off her personal best time to run an excellent 3.16.50.
The previous weekend had John Kennedy running in the River Ayr Way (41 miles) finishing as 1st MSV (male supervet) in a time of 6hr 7m. This race was the last race in the 2010 Ultra Marathon Series and John was awarded the prize of 1st MSV for running excellent times in the D33, Highland Fling, Speyside Way and of course the River Ayr Way, so many congratulations to him.
