Roisin had a good run at the Strathclyde Parkrun today - the Pollok Park event was off - and finished first female despite the fact that another is listed ahead of her - the other is a wheelchair user. She was twenty eighth of 134 finishers in a time of 20:33 on what was a new course for her. There were two other Clydesdale Harriers running: Watson Jones was forty first in 22:07 and Christine Duncanson fifty ninth in 24:17.
You can often measure how good a run was by some of the other runners finishing just in front or just behind you - in Roisin's case Keith Redpath who is now a male vet was a very good competitive athlete with a good career both as an amateur and then as a professional was just in front and not far behind was Campbell Joss of Bellahouston Harriers who always runs to a good standard. I also noticed that my old training partner and former Scottish Marathon Champion (2:18:03 in 1979) finished down the field in seventieth place in 27:10. I'm nearly tempted to get the running shoes from the back of the cupboard ......
Well done to all three club members.
