West Districts

After the results were published I was surprised to see that Paul Carroll's name was missing from the total. It wasn't like him to drop out, that's for sure! Then I found out what had happened: his race number was 730 and his place had been given to the guy with race number 703. That meant the club was missing his points and gaining the points from our seventh runner. However when I had another look today, they have added him in in his rightful position and the team has been moved up accordingly. The vets team was also moved up - in my innocence I had assumed that Gary was a vet as well. Sorry Gary! As for the men's team, one place and eleven points behind Garscube, twelve behind Westerlands and only 22 behind Bellahouston Harriers. It's getting better every year and it will come down to numbers on the starting line or competing for places - now get Ryan Savage and David Brown back in business with Peter and Ryan, get some more runners at the start (eg Craig Calderwood, John Kennedy, etc) and get Prasad fit and we will have a very good team.
It's also very good to see the women competing in so many races this winter as well - it keeps the club name to the fore and provides role models for the younger athletes.
We always encourage the youngsters as we should do - but praise should also be given to the seniors and veterans who keep the flag flying!
