Well done to all who ran in the District Championships at Irvine. I couldn't come down because the roads were flooded. two months of snow and ice and they were cleared by two days of rain with the result that the roud south to Callander was flooded, the road out of Callander to Glasgow was flooded in two places and the detour was about 20 miles to add to the travelling distance - one way - of 80 miles. So I didn't come down.
However the results were good with the photos taken by my friend Kenny Phillips showing the effort being put in by all the runners. The only disappointment - and it was a small one - was that several teams were only one runner short! The positives outnumbered the negatives though. eg two Under 20's in the Senior Men's team, runners in almost all age groups, the return to action of some of the younger runners, notably Rachel Busby. Roll on the National!
