News Report w/e 20th March

On Saturday (19^th) was the Clydesdale Harriers 5k Road Race starting in Clydebank Business Park and finishing on the canal nearby. Results next week.

The previous weekend was the Balloch to Clydebank Half Marathon. Several harriers took part. Fastest harrier and 33^rd overall was Gerry Montgomery running a personal best time of 1.20.09, followed by Donald Cameron (1.22.01 – also a pb). A few minutes back was Bobby Rossborough (1.27.41), Kevin Farmer (1.30.41), Pamela McCrossan (1.30.52 – 2^nd vet over 40), Hugh Laverty (1.34.37) and Marina McCallum (1.36.31).

Also that day was the Scottish Athletics Indoor League (SAIL) Finals and Relays at the Kelvin Hall. Two of our juniors did us proud achieving personal bests in the process. Andrew Hunter jumped 4.83m in the Long Jump to finish second. He also won the 60m (7.90s) and won the 200m (26.0s). David Campbell threw 7.35m in the Shot Putt to finish third. He also came second in the 60m Hurdles (9.87s) and third in the 400m (62.14).

At the Nigel Barge 3k Junior Run (I gave senior results last week) on the 5^th March had our younger members running well. We had Conor Ewing winning the race in a time of 10.37, followed by Roisin McShea (12.02 – second female), Rachel Busby (12.23 – third female) and Claire Reid (13.35 – fifth female).
