Extract from Minutes of December 2011Committee Meeting.

1.   Potential purchase of tent for use at outdoor events. So far, the president has been unable to source a suitable tent at a suitable cost. Despite asking for suggestions, no-one has provided any ideas as to where such a tent could be purchased. Enquiries to other clubs provided a website to look at but the cost of such tents was in the region of £999. Until someone can find a suitable tent which we can afford I don’t think we will be buying one.
2. Club Coaching. We are still lacking in qualified coaches for the young athletes we have in the club. Despite efforts to recruit volunteers who would gain certification we still don’t have anyone who is legally coaching the large numbers of young athletes who come to the track on a Tuesday night. While recognising that the volunteers who look after the youngsters at the track are doing a very good job on behalf of the club, we still need to ensure that we have coaches who are legally qualified to coach youngsters.
    This subject will be on the agenda for the forthcoming committee meeting and an invitation is extended to all coaches/volunteers who would wish to take part in the debate and provide suggestions as to how we can resolve this issue. The meeting takes place on Friday 20^th January at 6.30 p.m. in The Playdrome.
