News Report weekended 12th February

Last Saturday was the Club Cross Country Championships which took place in Mugdock Park this year. Results next week.

Last weekend was the Scottish Athletics Masters Cross Country Championships at Kilmarnock. In atrocious conditions the women and over 65 men ran first over 6k. Fastest harrier was Pete Cartwright finishing in a time of 27.25, followed by
Marina McCallum (28.43), Alistair Kerr (29.22), Bobby Young (30.23), and Watson Jones (30.58 and 2nd veteran over 70).

Next off were the rest of the men who were running 8k. Conditions deteriorated even further for the race. Fastest harrier was Paul Carroll (33.45), followed by Hugh Laverty (37.04), Gerry Kerr (41.54), and Peter Rudzinski (45.49).

Training nights for the club are Tuesdays (St Peter the Apostle High School at 7pm), Thursdays (645pm at East Thompson Street Car Park for the Seniors and 7pm at  Lussett Park for Juniors and Seniors). There are also long runs arranged for the Seniors. At the moment they’re at the Playdrome at 830am on Sundays. If anyone is interested in coming along just turn up at these times.
