Last Saturday several members of Clydesdale Harriers travelled down to Kilmarnock to take part in the Scottish Athletics National Masters Cross Country Championships. Results next week.
On the 29th January was the LSK Supplies Open Masters Road Relays at Strathclyde Park . We had two teams taking part. Team ‘A’ had Paul Carroll running first leg in 20.51, changing to Michael Diver (20.41), changing to Mark Barrow (24.37), finally changing to Hugh Laverty (23.14). Team ‘B’ which was the Over 50s Team consisted of Pete Cartwright running first leg (24.24), changing to Peter Rudzinski (26.51), changing to Gerry Kane (27.11), finally changing to Bobby Young (26.33).
The previous weekend was the club’s own Hannah Cup which took place on Dalmuir Golf Course. This was a handicapped race with a staggered start but actual running times are listed. Fastest harrier was Peter Bowman over approximately 5 miles with a time of 33.44, followed by Paul Carroll (34.39), Michael Diver (36.44), Iain Robertson (38.58), Martin King (39.48), Hugh Laverty (40.21), Anne Murray (41.10), Marina McCallum (42.03), Ryan Nelson (42.38), Fiona McCue (42.55), Watson Jones (46.02), Yvonne Green (46.52). Peter Bowman was male handicap winner and Yvonne Green was female handicap winner.
This Saturday coming (11th) is a combined club championships with some of the other nearby clubs. We could do with as much support as possible either by taking part or helping out. The venue is Mugdock Park . First race is at 11am.
