Message from Club Captain

Hello Guys,
I hope you are all well.
For my sins I was re-elected (as Mens senior Captain) for the forthcoming year. I think last year was reasonably ok and I’d like to try and improve upon that. To do so, I need your help.
That’s ALL OF YOU.
I said briefly at the AGM that in my opinion the Nationals in Feb were (for me) the most important race of the entire year.
Ask guys like Phil, Brian, John Hanratty or Bobby Young. They will agree. Ask our Club President who will run it next Feb for the 30th time !! We all can’t be wrong.
Its a race of fantastic atmosphere. It lets you know where you sit at race levels against guys in the whole of Scotland. It lets our team know, where we are at.  So, please. If you can only do ONE race for me (as Captain ) in the next 10 months...then make it the Nationals next Feb. Guys, that’s 10 MONTHS notice. Not a week, not a month....Its ten Months.
For the past few years it has been the 3rd Sat in Feb...so a possible date is Sat 16th Feb 2013.
For those that work Saturday's, please bear this in mind nearer the time and when the date is confirmed and try and get the day off work.
This year we had 10 men running.  Not quite two teams ( 6 for men).  I’m going to forget someone here ( so my apologies) but we do need everyone...guys such as Mark B, Pete B, Pete C, Michael, Kevin, Martin, Hugh, Gerry M, Paul Mck, Ryan, Iain,Brian G, Colin, Peter H, Derek H, Watson, Gerry K, Peter R, Bobby Y. Alistair K, Donald, Stuart, Ally G, Stephen McK, James A, Brian R, Laurie P, Davie M and Chris R. Guys such as Brian C and John McA I hope will be back with us. I haven’t forgotten John K and indeed Craig C. Including myself that's 34 guys.  For me its not just about any of us finishing up as high as possible...its about getting as many of our men out there as possible. I’m sure Christine will speak for the ladies. Once we get YOU guys out racing at these types of events...then we can worry about improving Clydesdale's fortunes.
We could easily have a least 4 or 5 teams out in Feb. That’s just the men.
So, please...get your spikes looked out !! Its going to be a great season.
