On Sunday 29th two Clydesdale Harriers travelled
south to take part in the Fleetwood 10 Miler (near Blackpool).

The previous weekend was a busy one with no less than four
events taking place. The first was the SAL (Scottish Athletics League) Match 1
at Meadowbank Stadium. Andrew Russell took part in the 200m finishing 6th
in 24.70. Ryan Nelson ran in the 800m finishing 5th in 2.16.90. Iain
Robertson ran in the 400m and 800m finishing in 56.20 (5th) and
2.03.72 (5th). Connor Ewing ran in
the 1500m finishing in a time of 4.33.49 and 4th position. Peter
Bowman also ran 1500m finishing 2nd in 4.10.78. Paul Carroll ran in
the 5000m finishing 7th in 17.09.70. The relays were next. First was
the 4x100m which had Andrew Russell running first, changing to Ryan Nelson,
changing to Iain Robertson, finally changing to Peter Bowman. They finished 4th
in an overall time of 51.86. Next was the 4x400m which had Campbell running first, changing to Iain
Robertson, changing to Connor Ewing, finally changing to Peter Bowman. They
finished 5th in an overall time of 3.46.76.
Also that day was the Deafblind 10k at Bishopbriggs. The
weather deteriorated somewhat just before the start of the race with flash
flooding making running conditions on sections of the course slightly
hazardous. However Hugh Laverty still managed to finish in 9th
position in a time of 41.41, followed by Marina McCallum (45.20 and 5th

The next day was the Virgin London Marathon where Mark
Barrow ran an even split to finish in 3h 53m 11s (pb), followed by Tricia
Stevenson in 4h 17m 48s (pb).
Lastly was the Mulberry Bush Montessori Balfron 10k which
had Brian Reilly finishing the hilly course in a time of 42.56, followed by
Paul McKendry (45.59).
