Clydesdale Harriers had several races in
the past few days.Last Sunday was the Mens Health Forum 10k which ran around
and in Pollock Park. There was also the inaugural Dalbeattie Half Marathon.
Results soon! Last Saturday was the Hugh
Wilson Memorial 5 Mile Road Race which had Colin Gray finishing in 40.55 in appalling
weather conditions. Also that day was the Kelvin 5k which took place in
Kelvingrove Park over an undulating course. Marina McCallum ran the course in
22.37.
The previous Thursday had no less than
fourteen harriers travelling to Kirkintilloch to run in the Kirkintilloch 10k.
Fastest harrier and 10th overall was Donald Cameron (37.17),
followed by Kevin Farmer (38.44), Hugh Laverty (41.22), Anne Murray (41.27 and
1st veteran), Stuart Allison (41.27), Brian Reilly (41.42), Mark
Barrow (44.00), Shirley Greig (44.51), Christine Duncanson (46.02), Yvonne
Green (46.16), Stephen McKee (49.20), Colin Gray (49.38), Tricia Stevenson
(54.46), and Evelyn McKee (56.05). Anne,
Shirley and Christine were also winners of 1st Female Team.
The previous weekend was the fourth in the
Polaroid Eyewear 10k Road Race Series. This was at the Vale of Leven. Fastest
harrier was Kevin Farmer (38.21), followed by Martin King (39.46), Alistair
Greig (39.46), Hugh Laverty (40.45), Brian Reilly (40.56), Anne Murray (40.57),
Pete Cartwright (41.02 and 1st veteran over 60 Series Winner), Mark
Barrow (43.01), John Hanratty (45.59),
Christine Duncanson (46.50), Stephen McKee (48.48), Colin Gray (49.21),
Tricia Stevenson (53.18), and Evelyn McKee (54.46).
The day before was the Frank Sinclair
Memorial 10k Road Race in Greenock which had Peter Rudzinski finishing in
46.05, followed by Bobby Young (46.16).
