News Report Weekending 6th January

Clydesdale Harrier members had some excellent results last weekend. On the Saturday was the Inter Districts Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh. This was a selection only race which had Under 13 runner Lewis Priest having the honour of being our clubs only selected runner. He had a phenomenal race finishing fifth overall, racing against some of the best runners in his age group. The best is yet to come from this young runner! The following day some of the older members of the club travelled down to Lancashire to run in the Central Lancashire Half Marathon. Paul Carroll had an excellent race finishing second overall in a personal best time of 1.17.09 over the undulating course. Marina McCallum also had a good run finishing as second veteran over 40 in a time of 1.34.25. Hugh Laverty wasn’t too far behind finishing as second veteran over 55 in 1.36.44. On Boxing Day was the Ayr Turkey Trot 10k where fastest harrier was Marina McCallum (43.33), followed by David Mitchell (47.45), Stephen McKee (51.29), and Evelyn McKee (56.22).
