Last weekend Clydesdale Harrier Marina McCallum made the
journey to the West Lothian Highland Games to take part in the Bathgate Hill
Race. It was an out and back course mainly on road with the middle mile on
rough track. Mainly uphill on the outward journey. In appalling conditions Marina ran well to
finish as first female in a time of 45.45 for just over 6 miles.
Last Thursday was the first in the Polaroid Eyewear 10k Road
Race Series which took place in Helensburgh, starting and finishing at the
Hermitage Academy. Fastest harrier was Paul Carroll finishing well up in the
field in a time of 35.29, followed by Donald Cameron (36.27), John Fox (37.37),
Nicola Pearson (42.43 and 1st Junior runner), Yvonne Green (46.41),
Stephen McKee (48.50), Mairi Fox (50.04), Colin Gray (50.20), and Evelyn McKee
(56.19).
Tomorrow (Thursday 23rd May) is the second in the
Polaroid Eyewear 10k Road Race Series which takes place in Clydebank and is
organised by ourselves, Clydesdale Harriers,
and starts and finishes on the service road at the rear of the shopping
centre parallel to Kilbowie Road. Helpers are always needed, so if you’re
available to help please turn up at the Playdrome (registration area) and ask
for Peter Rudzinski before the start of the race (7.30pm).
