On Sunday several Clydesdale Harriers took the ferry over to
Cumbrae to run in the Millport 10 Miler. Results soon.
Last Saturday had Marina McCallum travelling to Aberfeldy to
run in the Highland Perthshire Half Marathon. She finished as third female and
first veteran over 40 in a time of 1.36.44 over the mainly flat and scenic course.
The previous Tuesday was the clubs own track and field
championships which took place in our training ground at St Peter the Apostle
School. The first event was the 3000m. Fifteen harriers took part. Fastest
harrier was Iain Robertson (10.18), followed by J. Monaghan (11.18), Ryan
Nelson (11.31), Alan Dick (11.37), Tony Dolan (11.43), Paul McKendry (11.49),
Pamela McCrossan (11.53), Alistair Greig (11.57), Dewar Stewart (12.01), Marina
McCallum (12.08), Anne Murray (12.10), Bobby Young (12.40), Gerry Kane (12.45),
Claire Reid (12.58), and Stephen McKee (13.38). More events are to be competed
in over the next few weeks.
