Young Athletes League

The second meeting of the Scottish Young Athletes League took place on Sunday at Grangemouth. The good news is that the team was bigger and stronger than in the first match, the second is that there seemed to be more first, second and third places. Among the first time competitors were Kyle Higgins (son of Joe who was a good club member for many years) and Charlotte Ross (whose Dad Paul was a good athlete before turning to rugby). Both did well and want to compete again - and soon! The more experienced athletes such as Andrew Hunter and David Campbell and Claire Reid and Roisin McShea led by example and I believe that all those present completed three events each. So to all of those there - Chris and Stephen, Emma, Emily and Rachel and all the rest - well done, I thoroughly enjoyed the day. And of course Phil did sterling work as team manager.
