Clydebank Post Article
Sorry about the article in the Post last week - I haven't seen it but the same guy put it into the Stirling Observer and I saw that version online. I had a phone call about three weeks ago from a guy in London who wanted some info about athletics and me over the past umpteen years so we spoke on the phone for about half an hour (at his expense!) and he said I could see whatever he produced before it was printed anywhere. Didn't happen that way. The bit in the Stirling Observer has my age at 71 - I wish it were true! I wouldn't mind being back there! It did say, and I quote, "I have been a large part of my life", and at least that bit is true! The stuff about marching round the living room with the grandsons, really referred to a remark about a wee carry-on we had when they came up a couple of weeks ago. I said I'd have to get into training so the three of us ended up jogging round the house carrying maglites. Daughter said training should use progressively heavier torches and strengthening exercises for the right arm! Calum suggested that I hold the torch higher because a real one would burn my face if I carried it that low. Probably right but the whole thing was full of inaccuracies and is a wee source of embarassment.
