News Report w/e 31st July

Marie Rippon at Dundee


On the 18th of the month was the Irvine AC 5 Miler. Three Clydesdale Harriers traveled down to take part. Fastest harrier was Paul Carroll (28.31), followed by Pamela McCrossan (33.35), and Colin Gray (41.28).

The day before was the Dundee Half Marathon. Over a hilly course fastest harrier was Paul Carroll (1.20.22) who won 1st veteran over 35, followed by Kevin Farmer (1.29.20), Stuart Allison (1.33.17), Marina McCallum (1.36.43 and 3rd vet over 35), Christine Duncanson (1.49.16), and Marie Rippon (2.02.39).

Also that weekend was the Clydestride 40 Ultra Race which had John Kennedy finishing 8th overall in a time of 5h 48m and winner of 1st veteran over 50.

Lastly on the 12th was the Sinclair Cup for all members of Clydesdale Harriers only. It was a two loop course covering a total of 5.4 miles. The race was also handicapped but actual times are recorded here. Men’s times are:  Paul Carroll (31.33), Brian Gallagher (34.10), Martin King (35.07), Paul McKendry (36.00), Stuart Allison (36.06), Alistair Greig (38.20)Peter Rudzinski (40.42), Watson Jones (40.50), and Stephen McKie (44.07). Paul was the winner and Stuart was the winner of the handicap. Women’s times are: Pamela McCrossan (35.45), Marina McCallum (36.29), Anne Murray (36.30), Fiona McCue (39.03), Christine Duncanson (41.24), Shirley Greig (42.01), Yvonne Green (42.27), and Marie Rippon (46.47). Pamela was the winner and Marina was the winner of the handicap.
