News Report w/e 11th September

The weekend of the 4th September had many excellent results for Clydesdale Harriers. The first was the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon,10k and Junior runs. In the half marathon fastest harrier was Stuart Allison finishing in a time of 1.31.13 (pb), followed by Mark Barrow in 1.35.58 (pb), Brian Reilly (1.41.55), Colin Gray (1.50.21), and Tricia Stevenson (2.03.14). In the 10k fastest harrier was Kevin Farmer (41.57), followed by Yvonne Green (47.06), and Sandy McDonald (63.28). In the junior run Conor Ewing had an excellent run to finish 16th overall in the 3k race in a time of 10.19.

Also that day slightly further afield was the Hilton Blackpool Half Marathon. Fastest harrier was Paul Carroll finishing 5th overall in a time of 1.20.35 (1st vet over 40), followed by Gerry Montgomery (9th overall in a time of 1.22.23 and 1st vet 50), Pamela McCrossan (1.29.48 – 3rd female), and Marina McCallum (1.32.58 – 1st vet 40).

Also that day was the BMAF 10 Miler at Hexham where Pete Cartwright ran 72.12, followed by Bobby Young (80.04), and Watson Jones (82.39 and 2nd vet 70). The three of them also won the team prize for their age category (65-74).

Lastly, a missing result from the Blythswood Care 10k from last month. John Kennedy finished fifth overall in 39 minutes – apologies for missing it out in last report!
