Triathlons

In recent years the M60 group has been doing well: the three amigos winning a whole series of GB titles over the country, on the road, at 5K and 10K and in relays as well as championships, and Jim Shields winning GB vests at triathlon. Now Cliff Brown has taken up the triathlon and at the weekend he was in the same competition as Jim. In an open watetr triathlon, Cliff beat Jim in the swim, equalled him in the run - but lost three whole minutes in the bike ride. Transitions are the problem but they can be practised and all the top men do practise going from the swim to the bike and from the bike to the run. Jim certainly has the edge in terms of experience - but Cliff has youth (?) on his side and finished second in his age group.
