The club has had thousands of members in my time in the club and it is sometimes interesting to see where they are now, which ones are still competing and which clubs they are running for. For instance, looking through the hill races results there have been three obvious ones. Gordon Pryde was a club runner of some ability in the eighties before he moved away from the district. He is now turning out for Ochil Hill Runners and when I spoke to him at the Ben Sheann Race in 2007 he was still running and well and clearly enjoying his sport. Don Reid of Westerlands was one of a wee group that included the likes of Andy Dytch,Brian Edridge, Christine Menhennet and Pat Bonnar who were part of the bigger superb club hill running group in the 1990's and he now organises several hill races every year and runs most weekends all over Scotland. Ewan Calvert was a British Internationalist over 800 metres and won medals at Scottish and British Championships. He is now living in Edinburgh and running the odd hill race (look up Goatfell and I was told that he was at the Carnethy 5 but I can't find his name in that result) as 'Ewan Calvert (Unattached)'.
I might have a wee word soon about the the 1950's when the club's involvement in hill running took off under the inspiration of Bobby Boyd.
