Amigos in Horwich

The results for this excellent race, reported earlier, have not yet been published but I have got wind of the actual times done by the three amigos in finishing second. The times of our boys were Pete Cartwright - 20:05, 5th M65; Brian Campbell - 20:22, 7th M65; Bobby Young - 20:37, 9th M65. Well done guys.

It's good to see club members travelling for good competition - the amigos have been doing it for some years, a couple of weeks ago Johnathan and Peter went down to Manchester and ran well and on Wednesday this week Johnathan goes to Gothenburg in Sweden in search of good competition. In the past Phil, Allam Faulds, Ron Paton, Doug Gemmell, Brian McAusland and others went looking for good competition - all over England (Rotherham, Manchester, Milton Keynes, London, etc), Europe (Spain and France) and even the US of A where the Boston and New York marathons were RACED in the search for times. They were not just jaunts with a wee race thrown in. The race was the point.
The Amigos have been following that philosophy for many years now - let's hope it rubs off on a few more club members!
