News Report week ended 15th July

Sinclair Trophy runners

July is usually a quieter month for races but the clubs own race the Sinclair Cup took place on the 17th. It was a handicapped race but actual times are listed. Fastest harrier was Paul Carroll running the 5.4 mile course in 30.50, followed by James Austin (32.47), Robert O’Neill (33.15), James Fox (34.46), Hugh Laverty (35.25), Pamela McCrossan (36.05 and 1st female), Stuart Allison (36.18), Marina McCallum (38.50), Paul McKendry (39.41), Peter Rudzinski (40.03 and 1st Handicap winner), Christine Duncanson (40.30 and 1st female handicap winner), Yvonne Green (41.56), Paul Broad (43.00), Colin Gray (43.34), Stephen McKee (45.47), and Patricia Stevenson (46.45). Several members of Clydesdale Harriers participated in two races on the 8th of the month. The first was the Crieff 10k which had Marina McCallum wading through mud on parts of the hilly multi-terrain course. She finished in 51.52. The next was the Girvan AAC Half Marathon. Over an extremely hilly course Gerry Montgomery finished as second veteran over 50 in a time of 1.25.47, closely followed by Pamela McCrossan who had a fantastic run finishing as first lady in 1.29.41.
