Message from Captain Paul Carroll

First of all i hope you are all well. Looking at the last few months results, all of us are indeed producing our best results for
some time. Long may that continue.
Id like to echo what Marina said on her recent results blog re the CSSL league. In the Final match we had lots of young
and 'older' members competing and in doing so, we managed to avoid relegation. Well done to all.
Our cross country season will soon be upon us. Its only a matter of weeks before we pull on those spikes !
I genuinely believe our club is at its strongest for quite some time and we can do very well in the relays. The George
Cummings will be first up i think, then the McAndrews, but i think the Dumbartonshires will be a very realistic medal hope
for both the senior Men's and Women's. (both of them did so last year). After that we have the West Districts and lots
more relay races straight through the winter, with the Nationals (the big one) in Feb. I hope to have as many men in our
club available to compete. Christine will likewise be hoping for a good turnout from the girls. To avoid any embarrassment
please ensure both of your SAF and club membership fees are upto date.
Yvonne will do her usual excellent job in entering our names for the events, so please only email her if you are sure you
will be racing, as we dont want to enter someone, then lose out on money, if they fail to appear. Id appreciate if you could
let me know as well so (Iain and I ) can plan ahead and have our selections and teams picked in advance of the day itself.
I wont be at the club on Tuesday as i have a meeting with the Police thing i do, so for those of you who have entered the
GSR next Sun, then i wish you all the best. Remeber to get on the front row, so we see the Clydesdale vests in the
Evening Times !
Finally, for now, is the Cumbrae 10, on the Sept 9th. Its a club league event and perhaps you are thinking of doing it.
Gerry (Kane) and I have entered it. I guess, its a good idea if there were a few of us, that we could car share. Maybe
one car or two cars, depending on who wants to race. So, perhaps we could decide upon this within the next week or so
and decide what to do.
Will see you all at the track on Tues 4th Sept.

Paul.
