News report weekending 26th August

On Sunday 19th was the CSSL  (Central and South of Scotland League) at Wishaw. This was the third and final track and field meeting in this league for the year which cemented our position in Division 2. Juniors and Seniors alike mucked in and competed in as many events as they could varying from 100m, 3000m, High Jump and Triple Jump to name but a few. All gave us valuable points to finish second at the meeting. Many thanks also to all the parents and coaches who helped out and made the meeting such a success.
The Tour of Clydeside kicked off on Monday 13th in Kilbarchan with the 5.5 Mile Trail Race. Fastest harrier was Paul Carroll finishing 5th in a time of 31.19, followed by Paul McKendry (37.17), and Bobby Young (39.18).
The next night was Race 2 which was the Garscube Gallop Multi-Terrain which was run around Dawsholm Park (approximately 5k). Fastest harrier was again Paul Carroll, finishing 6th overall in a time of 17.43, followed by Paul McKendry (22.18), and Bobby Young (24.52).
Wednesday was a rest night but action resumed on the Thursday with the Broadwood 5k. Paul was 4th overall in a time of 17.25, followed by Hugh Laverty (20.23), Paul McKendry (21.20), Bobby Young (22.23), and Colin Gray (24.04).
The final race in the Tour of Clydeside was the Bellahouston Belter which had Paul Carroll finishing 3rd overall in a time of 35.05, followed by Bobby Young (47.03).
Paul finished as 3rd overall for the series so well done to him!
