News Report weekended 23rd September

Clydesdale Harriers had plenty of excellent results the last two weekends. On Sunday was the Dumfries Half Marathon where Yvonne Green blitzed her personal best half marathon time to finish as 1st veteran over 50 in a time of 1.41.59 in near perfect conditions over the undulating course.
Also that day was the East Neuk 10k at Anstruther. Gerry Montgomery and Pamela McCrossan made the journey over to the picturesque part of the east coast to both finish as prize winners. Gerry ran 38.22 and finished as 1st veteran over 50, closely followed by Pamela finishing as 3rd female in 40.45.
The previous Thursday was a one mile race organised by the club – The Suzie Quigley Memorial Race which had runners split into three groups (6 minute mile, 7 minute mile, 8 minute mile). The groups were set off staggered according to their times with the slowest runner in each group the main counter. The 8 minute mile group showed a clean pair of heels to the others to finish clear by about 20 seconds so many congratulations to everyone in the group. Thanks to Stuart Allison and several other members who helped organise the night!
The previous weekend was a busy one with races. First up was the Running the Race 10k at Strathclyde Park.  Gerry Montgomery again ran well to finish in a time of 38.38, followed by Pamela Mccrossan in 40.58 and 1st female overall.
The Kilmacolm races were next with a 10k and half marathon. In the 10k Alan Dick continued his good form finishing in a time of 40.45, followed by Brian Reilly (42.13). In the half fastest harrier and 4th overall was Brian Gallagher in 1.24.34, followed by Paul McKendry (1.39.23), and Marina McCallum (1.41.51 and 3rd female overall). All ran well considering bad weather conditions.
Further afield was the Great North Run in Tyneside which had Mark Barrow finishing in 1.42.09 and Paul Broad in 1:49:45 a PB in poor weather over the undulating course.
